What Griffin Funding is
Griffin Funding is an online loan-matching service for US borrowers who need between $500 and $5,000. We are not a bank and we are not a lender. One short request reaches a network of independent lending partners, and any lender interested in working with you responds with its own terms. You review, compare, and decide.
Why we built it
People who need a modest personal loan often face the worst version of the borrowing experience: a dozen separate applications, confusing rate language, and pressure to sign fast. Our team came from lending, customer support, and consumer-finance publishing, and each of us had watched borrowers accept a mediocre offer simply because comparing felt like too much work. Griffin Funding exists to compress that work into a single request and to explain every step in ordinary English.
What we believe
- Clarity beats persuasion. Every figure we publish is labeled an estimate, because only a lender's final agreement controls your cost.
- Small loans deserve real respect. A $700 car repair can matter as much to a household as a mortgage. The tools and explanations here are built for that reality.
- No obligation means no obligation. Receiving an offer through our service never commits you to accepting it, and declining never costs you anything.
- Borrowing is one tool, not the answer to everything. Our guides regularly point out when waiting, saving, or negotiating a bill beats taking a loan.
How we operate
Our editorial guides, calculator, and comparison pages are maintained by a small team of finance writers and reviewed for accuracy against lender disclosures and public consumer-finance resources. The matching service itself is free for borrowers; compensation comes from lending partners, and our Advertiser & Lending Disclosure explains that relationship in full. We publish typical ranges rather than teaser numbers, and we never promise approval.
